The Alwaleed Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World at the University of Edinburgh marks his 10th anniversary with a series of online seminars. I will be speaking on ‘“We carry an inerasable image in our hearts”: What Sunni Islamists learned about religious authority from the Iranian Revolution’ and will share the panel with some wonderful colleagues, namely Elvire Corboz (Alwaleed Centre, University of Edinburgh), Jakob Skovgaard-Petersen (University of Copenhagen), David Warren (Washington University in St. Louis) and Gabrielle Angey-Sentuc (IRISSO/Université Paris Dauphine).
