I’ve been appointed a visiting professor of Culture and Society of Islam at the Institute for the Study of Islamic Culture and Religion, Goethe-University Frankfurt, German. During this winter term, I’ll be teaching courses on history and Islam in modern Afghanistan, on the lived reality of interactions between Muslims and others over the centuries, and early Islamic history. I will also teach in Frankfurt for the summer term 2022 and return to Freiburg and my great colleagues there on October 1, 2023.
